Ooh I noticed this on Youtube. Couldn't actually believe it was Merzbow and didn't realise it was a national anthem cover. It is pretty cool though, quite an enjoyable listen. Liking the ethnic/psychedelic vibe to it and that quirky bassline. Just had a listen to Colin Potter's track too which he recorded prior to joining Nurse With Wound. Flicking through some of the others, seems there's some pretty crazy inventive work with synths and drum machines throughout.

I’ve listened to some of the other tracks (for example by The Cop Killers, to whose only release Akita contributed), but this experimental synth and drum machine kind of music is not my cup of tea.
I have Colin Potter’s Ancient History CD box which contains his earliest tapes. They’re melodic, catchy synth music for the most part, so it’s worth getting if you’re into that kind of music.

First time hearing this. Very interesting. More for the fact that it is, somewhat unbelievably, a Merzbow track than anything. But I am a fan of these sorts of 80's "Post-Punk/Darkwave" and "Progressive Synth/New Wave" sounds, which makes it especially interesting to me. I'd be curious to know if there's more material like this, but I have a feeling Mr. Akita has little interest in releasing it.
