seems theres a new CD on the way, a collaborative effort between Merzbow/Duenn/Nyantora... I assume it's a live recording considering the trio played together fairly recently... but further info on the album seems a bit scarce and in japanese. Don't know if that's the final artwork for the album, but Its kinda quirky. I like.

I hope that's the final cover - it's amazing! As far as I can tell it looks like it's coming out on Slowdown/Parallax Records, but yeah - there's not much info about this anywhere, that I can see.

diskunion.net/jp/ct/detail/1007332572its listed for sale here, also where i found the picture... the track listing suggests its three different mixes, one by each artist... i wonder if there was source material yhat each put their own stamp on. is anyone familiar with the other artists, Duenn and Nyantora? I'm not, other than I think Duenn is linked to the cassette label of the same name.

Just noticed that the Merzbow/Duenn/Nyantora show is currently a live stream on Youtube... i think as of now there's like another 4 hours of the show to go.
Seems the album is actually out now, has anyone found a distribution for it outside of Japan?

Seems the album is actually out now, has anyone found a distribution for it outside of Japan? I just heard for an hour or so of this show. It was a without-Merzbow-part. Only one Japanese guy playing elecronic music... Just not my cup of tea. Did anyone of you heard the Merzbow part ? Do you know if it is possible to playback the show somewhere ? First copies of the CDs on Ebay : www.ebay.com/itm/371927290061?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITSo the 'Maya Pyramid with cats' drawing is the final cover.

I caught snippets of it. Firstly a female ambient/noise artist, and later the trio including Akita. The video was labelled with 'Hardcore Ambient' which is probably the best way I could describe the sound they made. CD copies from japan seem expensive at the moment, i've been toying with the idea of using CDJapan or a site called Jauce to try get hold of Merzbow and other Japanese artists but think I'll end up getting stuck.

They were selling these cds for £10 each at merzbows London show tonight, so I managed to grab one. Bargain!

Had a first listen this morning. It's pretty great actually, first impressions.
The Akita track is a nice change of pace from what you'd expect from Merzbow, especially buzzy, spacey, and psychedelic. Almost unlike anything I've heard with his name on it. It's a completely immersive soundscape of sorts, more tranquil than we're used to from Merzbow, but not without some abrasive sounds and downright nasty synth tones. (in the best possible way)
Duenn's track is more of a traditional sounding dark ambient piece, still pretty lovely with sounds that flow and weave in and out naturally... very echoey, like you're listening in the middle of a cathedral or a huge cave.
The final track by Nyantora follows a similar ambience to the first two tracks but is maybe a little more direct with some weird and wonderful chirping and jittering electronics.

Yeah, it's definitely more of a dark ambient record, than a noise release.
I'm still trying to work out if this is three completely unreleated tracks by three different artists (aka a split or compilation album), or whether they worked together on something as a trio, and each did a different 'mix' of it. The info booklet is all in Japanese, and appears to be a bio anyway. Info online once run through Google translate doesn't entirely clear things up either:
"3 RENSA" is a work by which Mr. Akita Masami's solo unit · MERZBOW, which is a noise musician, and Nyantora, another name of Nakako ( iLL , LAMA ), who organized cassette label Duenn in Fukuoka, formed tags for the first time, Three different songs that three people were in charge of mixing were recorded."

I'm not sure either. A hunch tells me it's three unrelated tracks, It does run similarly to the 3-way split CD 'Animal Liberation' The tracks are different enough that they do sound like each artist doing their own separate thing, although it's definitely possible they could have had a collaborative effort on all three.
