Anyone here know if the sound quality of a picture disc is inferior to a regular pressed LP? I have only one picture disc in my collection Maurizio Bianchi "Menses" issued by Menstrualrecordings. I have a crappy record player so can't vouch for it's quality. I have to say the Rustblade teaser videos do create excitement. and I'm intrigued by the sound bites...but it's very pricey.

I think I've read black vinyl sounds better than either picture discs or coloured vinyl. But I think if the pressing is of good quality and so is your turntable, the sound should be more than good enough regardless of the vinyl type. I certainly don't have issues with my pic discs (although I can't compare them to any other pressing, not least because they only exist in pic disc version).
By the way, Menses is a great album (I have it on CD).
