Solfo Bookings: "looking forward to a very special Merzbow release featuring some of the sickest vocalists, one minute grindcore songs.." Make what you will of that... Sounds interesting. Lots of things spring to mind, could it sound somewhat like Agoraphobic Nosebleed's Altered States Of America with all it's noise interludes... or like Whitehouse with all the nasty vocal work... who knows Early Days though... Any thoughts? also that Merzbow/Gustaffson/Pandi album 'Cuts' sure made my ears stand up... I'm usually a bit slow on the uptake with all the collaborations but Merz with a saxophone really works With Samidara and Ko To No To O To also on the way, 2013 is sounding good already...

As far as i know Ko To No O To was released on the 21st but the webstore crashed when they updated. There are instructions on how to buy on their site. Upcoming albums are Samidara (early 2013), "Duo" (early 2013), and "Cuts" (February 7th, 2013) aside from all the surprises we are going to get throughout the year. I retweeted the "one minute grindcore songs" tweet because it seems like a trustworthy tweet. However, i havent seen any more info in regards to this yet and they havent replied to my inquiries yet.

Yeah, I didn't realize the 7" was out yet, they've not announced it on Facebook, I tried to get a copy today but been going round in circles so no luck as yet. I've preordered samidara already and I'm tempted by duo since seeing the new pics on the blog. All this talk of grindcore has got me excited though, let us know if you here anymore

I was trying to gather more information because of you guys' interest but i couldnt find anything new. Im sorry. But we'll hear more soon, i hope. Seems like a cool concept, i hope it can be concreted sooner than later.
As for "Ko To No O To" yeah, i didnt gave it that much press because of all the tweets i posted about it before. Regardless, it took me a while to piece everything together on time and i was swamped on coursework to be more proactive about advertising it. Im making up for the error now. (also, i guess they havent been promoting it that much because their webshop is closed because of the malfunction when they added Merzbow's album on to the system. maybe when everything is functional again they'll start promoting it.)

As Balázs Pándi (he drumming on the grindcore project too) wrote on his facebook site it is possible to get Yamatsuka Eye as one of the thouand vocalists all around the world. He also wrote the music-preparation will be a NY/Tokyo/Budapest triangle filetransfer process, and he and Masami planned for a effect-ignoring album, with less than a minute long songs.
On 20th december he wrote about 13-14 peoples confirmed to vocalize on this release, one of them is Pete Pontikoff of Benümb / Agenda of Swine / Lie Still, and J. Randall of Agoraphobic Nosebleed.

stoked that Randall is on board, love his voice, he just fucking goes for it. ah yes, bastard noise, I was a fan of that album a few years back featuring the guys from the locust on vocals, that's what first came to mind when i heard about this project actually. as much as i like grindcore, I'm having trouble thinking of many other vocalists who stand out from the crowd, there may well be some surprises in store though

after reading all these replies, i'm a bit confused on what the title is called and what record label it's on or will be on. the reference to the 'cuts' album is also a mystery to me. is it live or a studio release? it feels like you can be a fan and still only scratch the surface of what's really out there....

Cuts is a live album recorded a while back. The girndcore project is another thing entirely which is so far a bunch of rumors and posts on the social media comming from close collaborators of Merzbow, so there is a lot of weight given to them. No release or label has been talked about because at this stage it seems its on recording process

Bucket, im sorry, but i must correcting you again, Cuts isn't a live album.
In May 2012 teh trio has a live show in Budapest, Hungary (was a great show, and im a lazy bitch and didnt published my videos, grrr). 3 - 5 days after the show they recorded the album Cuts.

Oh, and whats can be confusing, the cover artwork of Cuts was been the flyer artwork for that hungarian show, just was been so profilic and beautiful that Masami and Balázs wanted to save it.

nice, I'm a huge ND fan, but it never really occurred to me to check out what Mick does these days... There's some big names coming together in this project already, Its surprising just how many musicians throughout a vast amount of different genres are influenced by Merzbow's work.

seriously, where are you all getting this info? Balazs Facebook page and Mick Harris mainly! Why does it matter? Andypandy - Scorn are worth checking out. Mick made some great records there. E.N.T. Peel Sessions go without saying. Painkiller goes without saying. Oh, and the first Defecation album too - great album that!
