Has anyone seen this yet? That is the new version of th 13 Japanese Birds set. It appears that the Ecobag is now sold out which means bye bye to CD14 but this version is super cheap in comparison and hast the original 13 CDs plus a Merzbow shirt. The set is being sold for 65 bucks which is incredibly tempting, specially if i think that each album will only cost 5 bucks ;D. If you are stil not convinced, Important Records also has a special 10% off code when you purchase something on their store: 589929985. If you use that, the set will cost you arround 57 bucks or something. Im really tempted to buy it but im not sure, im not that much of a fan of the music in the set but those covers are true works of art. Plus i could wear a Merzbow shirt arround my university ;D ;D

I bought one of the bags... don't really want to say it was disappointing but the bag itself is rather cheap and nasty anyway and the exclusive art thing is literally a crumpled piece of paper with some metallic paint on it... but i guess getting the whole set at a decent price is cool. we've had a whole lot of box set releases recently... haven't had a 'normal' cd release as of yet this year...

I gues you are right. Im a CD guy, i really didnt care much for the ecobag since the extra CD wasnt in a case with a nice cover.
As for regular CDs i guess you are right, having said that, we still have 8 more months this year and it seems that most of the yet-untitled albums are all in CD format.

$57 is a steal if you can get it! i got the version with the bag which was pretty cheap at the time plus the bag been put to good use and still holding up better than the supermarket ones! hopefully know one is keen on the up and coming 10 & 18 vinyl releases due for this year so we can get a bargin like the 13 birds series.............

lol, i do love Merzbow's release presentations, they are always unique and very beautiful but the problem sometimes is that they are also somewhat expensive. The reason i get so atracted to this version is the simplicity of the release yet is very original. Even now that the monthly set is now over, having that 13 birds logo through all the CDs reminds me of a magazine that you can buy every month and on the side you see that a picture forms every month.
although its very cool to look at, im not that fond of the music itself and thats what is important for me and unless i win the lottery or Important Records is willing to give me one for free, i dont plan on buying it XD

Heh, I've finally decided that pricey Merzbow albums don't tempt me anymore. I always think it would be cool to buy them, but I'd much rather put my funds into eventually making my own music and such. Merzbow's albums, admittedly, often end up available online somewhere anyway, and it's not like I don't already have plenty of Merzbow to listen to (as much as I'd like to keep up with his work). I plan on buying a drum kit and making another chiptune album this summer.

It's not that I don't want to, it's just that I currently have more important places to put my already limited amount of cash!
