I thought this would get more attention if i make a new thread so: DEAD ZONE IS OUT NOW!!! The problem is that its not on quasi pop records yet. The good news is that info on discogs is already out and if you dont know what you can do through discogs here is a hint--- You can buy the album from someone there. (Ive never tried it myself but for underground artists it seems to be a good way to do so.) Anyways, the seller seems to be from ukraine and if my instincts are correct, then he is directly involved with the album or label. Here is the link to the info, remember that if you want to buy, check the right side bar and you can see that you can buy it there. www.discogs.com/Merzbow-Dead-Zone/release/3068083Ill leave the label's site as well and ill let you know when the album is for sale on the label. ;D www.quasipop.org/Thats it people, get exited.

I wasn't going to, but I bit the bullet and bought one from the Ukraine guy. Excited to listen to it.

Ooh, nice. I like where's he's going with his style, didn't like the crazy drums of 2010 too much.

i wish there were some samples of the album. That way maybe i could remember what was like to be in the Chilean Earthquake. seems the seller pulled the album out.

seems the album is back up on discogs with a new seller (quasi pop), i think that one is trustworthy.

Yeah, I just couldn't get into the free drumming stuff. I mean, drumming can do a lot with noise, but the free drumming stuff Merzbow'd been putting out just didn't do it for me. If you're looking for interesting noise with drums, I strongly suggest checking out the now broken-up Wzt Hearts.
Anyway, I'm pretty excited to get it and listen to it. I am still on the fence about Merzbow's new direction, but I like it more than most of his new free drumming stuff.

Oh yes : D
I find it interesting how much it resembles some of his earliest work. When he'd mentioned exploring the era from which his Merzbient works were taken, he wasn't kidding.

yeah, i feel that the overall releases from 2010 onwards have very much went towards that early stuff, whether its an old forgotten recording just published or a new album with elements of old school merz.
I think this is as close as well ever get to a reissue of his earlier non-merzbox music.

You may be right. I think it had been said by Akita that he didn't plan on doing another project as huge as the Merzbox, although I could be misremembering things. I personally would love to see him revisit the sound of his 2001-2006 era; there were a lot of quality releases then. Turmeric, Merzbeat, Merzbuddha, Merzzow, 24 Hours-A Day of Seals, Timehunter, Tamago...a lot of my favorites were released during the zenith of his "digital" era.
Hah, maybe after another 20 years (if he's still at it in that long) he'll make another huge retrospective boxset to pick up where the Merzbox left off, covering the late 90s through 2030. He'd be like 75 then. It'd be fantastic if he was still making noise at that age.

If he did release another huge boxset like that I'd buy it in an instant.
