it was about time. Theyve been delaying that for half a year i think. Although to be fair, Essence does make really nice packaging for the albums it releases so hopefully this wont be the exception.

Sound samples are up too. I'm listening to them now. Both the box and the standard edition CD seem to be very nicely packaged.

Yeah it looks lovely! From the photos it looks like it's been a real labour of love for them. Have they really made enough paper insects for more than a hundred boxsets by hand!? The moth pop up is a cool idea too, I have another Essence CD where they did that and it's a real gem.
From having a quick skip through the tracks on there, I think it sounds great too. Not dissimilar to Nezumimochi with those loops, but from first impressions it's a definite cut above, looking forward to getting my hands on this one!

This album sounds good! Like a more texturally interesting, at times, version of Nezumimochi, albeit still a little singular in terms of a main loop existing throughout tracks. Excellent start to track 1! I ordered mine and emailed Essence Music to ask about having access to streaming the remaining 2 tracks. The reply said that they've made all tracks available for streaming "for a couple of days only". Good opportunity to hear it all now.

I agree. The second track is probably my favourite from the first CD, the harsh screeching on the early part of the third track also does it for me, I suppose it's an intensity thing. By the fourth track though, I found my attention span dwindling a little... although I still think the sounds are great. It's probably fair to say that the loops the tracks are based around are similar to Nezumimochi, but there are a lot more interesting textures and changes of pace on this album for sure. The box-set edition of the album is pretty cool, obviously handmade and nicely done with a real keen attention to detail. I love the paper insects, they must have taken forever to make! The box itself is a little fragile, and the way the lid sits on is a bit awkward with the band fastening it underneath... but It's absolutely worth buying for the bonus CD because for me it's the real star of the show! Both tracks are fantastic. The first brings back some drumming, and for me it's a real welcome return because it's used tastefully and really works well with the rest of the sound. The second sounds a lot like LopLop (as the name 'Lop 13' might suggest) I don't know if it was recorded at the same time or it it's made using the same source material etc... It's noisy but there's more room to breathe compared to the other tracks, then halfway through one hell of a synthesizer part comes in and takes over. I love it
