Which Merzbow albums/songs do you guys think would be listenable/motivational while running on a treadmill?

I'd find it hard imagining any of them working especially well. Something from the 'Merz...' series of albums on Important Records might be your best shot. Give it a try lol

I dunno, I usually just listen to stuff like Wire or Minor threat when exercising, but maybe something like Merzbeat would work.

Yeah I thought of Merzbeat too. In fact it's the only one that came to mind for me, lol. I guess that's because I'm a Merzbeginner. I've only listened to 15-20 Merzbow records (entirely) yet, and let's face it, that's barely half way into the Merzdiscography. Looks like I've got some listening to do based on your suggestions. Thanks guys!

Glad you asked My favorites so far: Cycle, Amlux, Dharma, Dust of Dreams, Electric Salad, Electro Magnetic Unit, Eucalypse, Fantail, Ikebukuro Dada, Offering, Peace for Animals... And others I heard on YouTube which I can't remember the name of. I listen to his more rhythmic albums a lot, like the Merz series. Just now I'm listening to Merzbird for a first, and I find it excellent. If a song is 100% just the same loud noise throughout the whole damn song I get bored and I probably never listen to it ever again (In the albums I've listed, for example, it happens that I skip a song or two on them because they are very noisy and sometimes I'm not in the mood for that). But If it's different and something I've never heard before in music, I'll be more attracted to it. What about you andypandy380?

Cool I'm also quite fond of some of the more rhythmic/digital sounding ones. They do sometimes (I think) divide opinions among fans though. But a lot of the thick, harsher albums are great as well. Of the ones you mentioned, I think Amlux and Eucalypse are excellent, but I'm not very fond of the others. I've not heard Offering yet. Some of my favourites are probably: A Taste Of... Scene F.I.D. Kamadhenu Merzbear Zophorus A Perfect Pain (with Genesis P-Orridge) That list is ever changing though, the huge discography is such a thing though where if an album didn't make a good first impression, you can go back a year later and re-discover it, finding things about it you missed the first time and end up loving it. It's all a bit mad like that.
