I still this that Nezumimochi hasnt been released yet is because of the twitter incident where i posted the cover and Merzbow asked Cold Spring to ask me to remove it. He might have delayed that release for many other reasons. Who really knows.
Looking forward to hearing more about this new boxset. Hopefully it is more ambient =)

Anyone know Full of Hell? I listened to one of their albums and a live recording on their Bandcamp page, but wasn't blown away. And that teaser is way too short to form an opinion.

Merzbow seems to trend more and more into collaboration projects than in his own solo works. I personally would prefer more solo albums, but a collaboration with Akira Sakata seems to be very interesting. I will keep my eyes on this release and I hope, that there will be a CD version too.

I'm not sure what to think about this collaboration based on the song Gordian Knot. I'll wait till there are more samples or songs on the net. On the other hand, Antimonument is being released as 2 picture LPs: www.menstrualrecordings.org/merzbow_antimonument.html. Based on Discogs, track lengths are the same as on the (bootleg) CD version. I'll send an email to the label to clarify if they're the same; if there's no difference, I'll stick to my CD version.

Spoke very nicely to the man known as 'Dribbling Crazed Inzane Johnny' aka John Olson of Wolf Eyes, and he made up one of those Merzbow/Wolf Eyes CDrs for me. It's a live collaboration that happened last summer, a video clip of which is also on Youtube. I'm yet to listen to it in full but that video clip is kind of impressive! It's the closest thing to a new Merzbow album so far this year, I am however pretty intrigued to see what that new CD from Essence Recordings is all about I've noticed John has since listed another one of these on Discogs. Regarding the 2LP re-release of Antimonument, I always think all that sort of thing is a bit strange, if anything these old recordings should be re-released on CD, (although there is already an unofficial CD release of Antimonument and a whole lot of it is in the Merzbox) but standalone CD albums are still pretty nice... maybe I'm just bitter about the whole vinyl thing, we've been through all that before It does show some unseen original Akita artwork tho which ain't a bad thing. The 2LP version of 'Sun Baked Snow Cave' is also now available... why anyone would want a single hour long song spread across four sides of vinyl is a little baffling, but I suppose it's a collectible, big artwork and a download code.

That's cool. Did he made two copies for you?
Does anybody know something about the current status of Nezumimochi?

The yellow one is Wolf eyes Live Halloween and the DVDr is 8 hours worth of wolf eyes radio shows and other nonsense which were thrown in as freebies. They are of course very lo-fi bootleg quality recordings, but yeah, this sort of thing is what American Tapes etc do. The video has better quality sound than the CDr lol
I've no idea about Nezumimochi, shame it's not out yet. Some of the Cold Spring releases do seem to take their time to surface.

So, here is a new video from the Full of Hell & Merzbow collaboration. Well, from my personal view, I wouldn't call that a real collaboration. Merzbow's parts are just a few seconds on the beginning and on the end of the whole track. In the past, I thought this project would be an occasion for an exciting fusion of two different musical worlds. But this is the total opposite, both artists are absolutly seperated from each other. When that is the concept of the full album... This is so disappointing.

Merzbow & Askew split LP out in December: www.rustblade.com/2014/2564/I'm gonna skip on this. It isn't cheap to start with (although it's probably averagely priced considering it's vinyl) and I have no idea who Askew is. Apparently they're connected to the Rustblade label and Skinny Puppy. While I only know SP by name, I don't think they're my world musically from what I know about them, and neither is the roster of Rustblade.

Not so sure what to make of that sample. I know saying that Merzbow just sounds like loud TV static is a bit of a running joke, but that really does sound like white noise and very minimal. Hard to tell from such a brief sample but I could actually imagine a long track of that changing shape and working quite well over a period of time.
So after a quiet year, the ball is starting to roll a little bit. Nezumimochi ships out on Monday and the Physical copies of the Full Of Hell album also get sent sometime next week. Looks like the next two or three months are gonna be pretty busy with new releases (I've just noticed the TBC CD album from Essence Music has been pushed back to January also) so we have a handful of things to look forward to.
